Hist Majesty the King has been graciously pleased to approve of the undermentioned Honours and Rewards for distinguished service in the field, with effect from 1 Jan. inclusive. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and bar (DFC) on July 30th, and received the Distinguished Service Order (DSO) on December 29th, being then credited with fifteen enemy aircraft destroyed.
On 02 Februarythe 12th Cavalry Regiment was constituted in the Regular Army. On 08 Februarythe organization of the regiment was started at Fort Sam Houston, Texas and was completed on 29 Juneunder the command of Colonel James N.
